Most pregnant dog at the early stage will be seeking more attention from their owner than usual and there are many signs at the early stage to tell that your beloved dogs being pregnant


These are common signs of dog pregnancy symptoms


1. enlargement of nipples and vulva
2. vomiting due to hormone level changes in the body
3. decreased appetite
4. weight increase due to puppies
5. expansion of the uterus
6. Nipples turn more pink in color
7. lazy and lethargy


The average dog gestation period is usually lasts for 2 – 4 months counting from the first date of breeding. The dog pregnancy period can be different which is quicker for smaller breed and last longer for larger breed.


During the early stage of pregnancy your dog might not eat her food at all and shown a sudden clear sign of decreased in appetite then there is a high chance that your dog can become pregnant.


Normally active dog wll shown a signs of lethargy or sudden decrease in activity which is same symptoms as humans.


Your dog may experience exhaustion due to changes of hormone level which is the results from embryo production in the body. Nipple size enlargement is another physical change that can be seen externally which is the result from milk production.


Owner must be aware that most pregnant dog have behavioral changes which may need more care for their owner or rather wanted to be left alone. After a few week pregnant dog will gain more weight due to forming of puppies inside the body.


Special Care During Dog Pregnancy Period


Give your pet a regular walking or running within limit to prevent your dog from being overweight.


Food require supplement if extra supplement is required then be sure to ask your vet first because excess of calcium can cause eclampsia. You can also give extra protein by cooking food with boiled egg.
